| TRUE.com Applauds Lawmakers for Passing Landmark Safer Dating ...
DALLAS, Jan. 14 /PRNewswire/-- TRUE.com(R), the leading scientifically based online relationship service, congratulates New Jersey legislators for yesterday enacting the nation's first online dating legislation -- which is designed to protect the growing number of New Jersey citizens who are going online to meet potential dates. The Internet Dating Safety Act (Senate Bill-1977/A4304) requires online dating services to disclose their criminal background screening practices and to offer safer dating tips on their sites. With the growing concern nationwide about online safety overall, this legislation reinforces TRUE's steadfast commitment to safer online dating. TRUE's proactive policy requires criminal background and marriage screenings on all of its communicating members -- the only practice of its kind among major online dating sites.

College males have it hard, especially at Dartmouth. Hanover is not really what you'd call the dating hotspot of the Lake Sunapee region, so avenues to meet those women you want to take home to mom are limited. Luckily for Dartmouth men, there is still one avenue where guys can meet ladies and show off their skills. This avenue, my friends, is the dance party. In 2003 Dane Cook uttered the phrase, "Dude, I just wanna dance." When he said this, Dartmouth men everywhere stood up and cheered. Not only do Dartmouth guys love the dance party, but we also know how to treat a lady on the dance floor. For all the men out there who aren't avid dance party–goers and don't know the codes of conduct, take what I say as scripture. And just for everyone's information, the tips I'm giving are not just my observations, but also extensive research of reading over 100 Dartmouth women's diaries and Xanga profiles.
FYI: Be careful seeking a soulmate online
Happy Valentine's Day. If you are looking for love online, do your homework. According to the Better Business Bureau, complaints against matchmaking and online dating services are on the rise. Many people said they were matched with singles who did not meet their specified wishes, including whether they were smokers, educated, religious, lived too far away or, in some cases, were still married. BBB recommends the following tips when considering a matchmaking site: If you've just signed up for a matchmaking site and you suddenly have three people contacting you before you've even put up a profile or picture, reconsider joining. Ask yourself if you've been on for a reasonable amount of time to actually have real people see your profile and decide to contact you.
Gay matchmaking sites find a growing market
Growing up, Bethtina Woodridge heard all kinds of advice about dating, finding a husband and getting married. "You don't have those tips about meeting women," said Woodridge, 31. "How do I approach her, how do I know she is gay?" For Woodridge, finding that special someone turned out to be easier online. Several months after signing up for dating service Chemistry.com, Woodridge was matched with her partner, who was "incredibly honest and sincere, and she stole my heart." After online giant eHarmony made headlines last year by saying its psychological research is based exclusively on heterosexual relationships, a growing number of rival online matchmakers are using their algorithms to find same-sex love as well. "There are just not enough services for creating healthy relationships, and (it is) a major gap in the gay community," said matchmaker Patrick Perrine, founder of San Francisco-based Mypartner.com, which caters to "sophisticated, cultured and relationship-oriented gay men" and has more than 50,000 clients across the nation.
Racquelle Nash: Professional attire projects right attitude in ...
Most girls go to Express for their hip and stylish views on how the sexy working woman should look. But let's not forget stores such as New York & Company and H&M, which have just as nice pieces for lighter prices. Express has specialized pants such as the "editor pant" that fit a certain way to boost the back end, but cost a bundle at $69. That's expensive for a college intern, so try the working section at H&M. H&M has such nice things that last a lifetime, and for a reasonable price. Different-colored pants, skirts, blazers, tanks and even undergarments can be easily bought at H&M, altogether, for less than $150. Try doing that at Express. (Granted, Express does have extremely nice things, but most of the time I only go if they are having that huge "blowout sale of the year.") New York & Company is another shop worth stopping.
'TONY' Vid Proves Existence Of Happiest, Most Fulfilled Dog-Owning ...
I'm totally going to get serious here cuz I think about this a lot. I've been single most of my life. Except for a few two-month relationships and millions of one-night stands, I've been alone. And I feel less than. It sucks cuz since I've been three I've always had Disney Princess wedding fantasies and as I age I realize that's never going to come true. And I'm coming to grips with the idea that I'm going to spend my whole life alone: with my pugs and my girlfriends. What sucks is that I've internalized society's idea that being single and non reproducing is wrong. So when people are like, "I'm single and happy!!!" I take it with a grain of salt. I think the only women who really feel that way and say that are nuns of any stripe. Cuz the rest of us just have blasted 'hope' and that will destroy our soul.
Angels outfield must adjust to Hunter's arrival
TEMPE, ARIZ. - Part of the Angels' outfield dilemma this spring has nothing to do with convincing Garret Anderson and Vladimir Guerrero to be part-time designated hitters. What will truly test the club this spring, and probably for parts of the season, is how Torii Hunter and Gary Matthews Jr. mesh in the outfield. With Matthews moving between left and right fields, much of the outfield's success will hinge on how well he adjusts to his new role deferring to Hunter. "Guys on the corners are going to have to obviously be aware of where Torii is and know their range in different positions," Manager Mike Scioscia said. "So it's going to take a little work for Gary. But when you're putting Gary out there and moving him around, you're going to have a terrific defensive presence that he's going to bring to any position he plays." .
Snapper rules mean healthy fishery
Sending more boats won't help us catch more fish. Fisheries boom, then bust Overfishing means catching fish faster than they can reproduce. Overfishing pushes the fish population lower and lower, until fish are so few that fishermen can't make a living any more. Many fisheries have already collapsed, throwing thousands of people out of work. All over the world, fishery after fishery booms as we send in more boats, then busts as the fish population crashes. Off New England, cod were once so plentiful that boats had trouble pushing through them. Now the cod are nearly gone, and a centuries-old fishing tradition is ending. Other overfished species include sharks, bluefin tuna and many kinds of West Coast rockfish. When one kind of fish is no longer plentiful, fishermen must move on to new species.
12/15: Authority Zero
Singles One More Minute and Over Seasons became radio hits. The album eventually caught the attention of several popular bands, and Authority Zero joined Sum 41, Everclear and No Use for a Name on several tours. Andiamo came out in 2004, blending Spanish and Portuguese influences, and showing the political side of the band. Their newest album 12:34 was released in January. .
Moroccan-Born Mayor Dispenses Tough Love to Immigrants
The position is unlikely to represent the high-water mark of his political career: Eight out of ten citizens in the Netherlands believe that there is a place in Dutch politics for people like Marcouch. But not a few of Marcouch's fellow Moroccans in the area, which is known locally as Little Morocco, consider the mayor a turncoat. Two 11-year-old boys recently accosted him as he was walking through his community, calling him a "chaïn" -- Arabic for "traitor." Marcouch was furious. When he managed to catch one of the boys, he took hold of his chin and pulled the boy towards him, glaring at him and barking in Dutch, "sukkel" -- "loser." He refused to admonish the children for calling him a "traitor," considering it beneath him. But it didn't mean the insult didn't hurt.
Penned-up love leads to 'I dos'
Azzo's Restaurant and Bar on Jamestown's Main Street has a tiny alcove behind a glass door where diners are allowed to write their comments on the cuisine and ambiance in large grease-pen letters on the walls. Gina McRae, a raven-haired mortgage broker from Copperopolis, wasn't completely clear on the concept last New Year's Eve, when she took pen in hand and wrote a few glowing lines about her boyfriend, Bruce Eads, also from Copperopolis, rather than commenting on the restaurant. Eads, a partner in a Copperopolis fire sprinkler company, sat at the dinner table with Robin Dimiceli, Gina's mortgage firm partner, unaware that his praises were being penned for all to see. When Gina returned to the table, Dimiceli, took her turn in the alcove, and saw Gina's note, which read: "Here with my boyfriend, love him with all my heart." "It was their two-year anniversary," Dimiceli explained,"They met on New Year's Eve 2005 in Copper and had been dating ever since." Dimiceli came back to the table and urged Bruce to go have a look at the grease-pencil Valentine.
Tennis successes plentiful in 2007
A bunch of national championships and a few world titles. Charleston tennis has never been more successful than in 2007. The year's success stories once again were led by world champions Diane Fishburne and Brenda Carter, but league tennis and high schools fared well, too. And don't forget about the Family Circle Cup as it prepares to celebrate its 35th anniversary in a few months. Even though a Grand Slam tournament-class field withered and practically dried up from injury withdrawals, the Family Circle Cup barely missed setting Daniel Island attendance records last April. Only tornado-like conditions on championship Sunday held the premier women's tournament back. Fishburne moved up to the women's 50 division, recovered from knee surgery, and still surged to the world's top ranking in singles in her age group.
