Pitt Denies 'M:I' Shake-up

Brad Pitt has slammed rumors he's set to replace Ton Cruise in the struggling "Mission: Impossible" franchise.

Cruise, who has played agent Ethan Hunt in the action movies, was axed by Paramount Studios last month following "Mission: Impossible III"'s poor box office takings and his "unacceptable conduct" off screen.

Pitt was hailed as a potential savior for the fourth installment, but his rep scoffs at the suggestion.

The spokesperson tells the New York Daily News, "It's totally made up."

Rotten to the Corps: A Question of Justice at Texas A&M

Sunrise was hours away when Zach Corcoran and three friends returned to The Exchange, an apartment complex for students in College Station.

Zach and the others were drunk. The drinking had started at dinner, followed by more drinks and shots in the Northgate district, a strip of bars and restaurants across from Texas A&M University. The only sober person in the group was Leah Cook, who shared an apartment with Katherine Helle.

The drinking continued at The Exchange. Leah and her boyfriend, Reid Ashton, argued in her bedroom. Zach sat in a love seat and slipped on a pair of Leah's sunglasses. Katherine stepped outside to make a phone call.

About 3 a.m., Eddie Helle and his friend Steven Ramirez, both members of the Corps of Cadets, arrived at the apartment. Eddie grabbed a bar stool and sat down.

Hip-Hop Rumors: We Don't Need No Rumors Today!

I would like to quickly clarify what happened at the Kanye West show in California. Actually, it was a Common show that Kanye popped up on. Last week I said that Kanye dissed the Grammys. Well, it wasn't at the Anaheim show like I said. This apparently occurred at the Hollywood show at the House of Blues. I wasn't there so I didn't hear it or anything. Also, I heard that in a third verse freestyle, Kanye said “I beat 50."
Thanks a lot, Peter!! (See the pics down below)

EMINEM RUMORS FALSE

There was another crappy Eminem rumor coming out that the Detroit rapper was going to be wrestling in the WWE. Shame on you if you believed that one. It was refuted faster than any other rumor in the history of man.

You have 24 extra hours to fill this year - here are 29 ways you could ...

Here are some more movie-type ideas for Friday. Have a:

• Boleyn day. Catch the opening of "The Other Boleyn Girl" (review, Page 9). Natalie Portman is Anne, Scarlett Johansson is Mary and Eric Bana is King Henry, who, we believe, gets all big and green whenever he's angry. Then rent the first season of "The Tudors." Or simply find some naughty sisters to hang out with.

• Flint day. "Semi-Pro" was filmed in Flint. Watch it and then rent other Flint films - especially "Roger and Me" and highlights from the 2000 NCAA basketball championship.

• A REAL Flint day. Drive (carefully) to Flint and see "Semi-Pro" there.

• Or just catch all the new movies at once - "Semi-Pro," "The Other Boleyn Girl" and "Penelope." It will require some attitude adjustments.

A long road from Kosovo to Kurdistan

Even Osama bin Laden had been in Albania, in 1994; al-Qaeda had a solid UCK connection.

Writing in the Russian daily Ogoniok, Ovtchinky describes how Albanian Kosovar clans always controlled opium and then heroin trafficking from Afghanistan and Pakistan through the Balkans towards Western Europe; then during the late 1990s a 3% tax started to finance all UCK operations. The UCK benefited from more than 750 million euros (US$1.1 billion) in drug money to buy weapons, he wrote.

According to Interpol and Europol, just in 1999 and 2000, these Kosovar mafias made no less than 7.5 billion euros - also by diversifying from narco-smuggling into human trafficking and large-scale prostitution. In Germany, they made a killing in Kalashnikov trafficking and fake euro banknotes.

It’s All About the Money

The basic notion is that celebrities from all walks of life come in for an informal one-on-one talk during which they're psychoanalyzed and a childhood career dream is revealed. Fahmy then proceeds to draw his guests doing their dream job.

“I never imagined myself doing this but I have been getting rave reviews people tell me I was born to do this," he boasts of the show, co-hosted by Abir Abdel Wahab. “When I had Mostafa El-Fiqqi [chairman of the People's Assembly's foreign affairs committee] on the show, he told me that I must have a touch of genius to be able to do all of this [hold a conversation with a guest, analyze and draw him] at once, and do it well."

Among his guests: ex-Foreign Minister Ahmed Maher pictured as a journalist and Supreme Council of Antiquities chief Dr.
