Students made and wore crowns representing the 100th day. The classes played the game "Race to 100" where students had to spin a spinner and move on a game board. The first child to reach 100 was the winner. They glued Fruit Loops to a hundreds chart and used rubber alphabet stamps to stamp 100 letters. Children put together puzzles with 100 pieces. They built structures with 100 blocks. Kindergarteners matched numbered Hershey Kisses to a hundreds chart. Each child brought a collection of 100 things to share and count. Students attended a performance of "Three Billy Goats Gruff" by Opera Iowa on Jan. 30. Students are participating in a spelling challenge. They are collecting pledges for each spelling word they spell correctly. The spelling test will be Feb. 29.
Toe-tapping returns to the Claremont
His buxom rhythm guitarist was all in black except her shoes. She wasn't wearing any. The occasion for the swank dinner-and-show package was to inaugurate an ongoing jazz series and celebrate the return of jazz to the grand ballroom since guys and dolls were swinging to the big bands on the dance floor. "The world has changed. The experience has not," so the Claremont motto goes. But in the big-band heyday, the guests were as white as the Berkeley resort and some of Albright's funkadelic songs, like "To the Max," probably would have scared the pants off Lawrence Welk, who also played there, not to mention Bill Thornburg, the Kansas farmer who built the Claremont in the 1890s, using Gold Rush riches, as a home for his nouveau riche wife. The "castle" burned to the ground July 14, 1901.
Black leader, a Clinton ally, tilts to Obama
Clinton is very desperate to win at any cost, like President Bush had to do in Florida. Anytime you have to put someone down, with negativity, in order to build yourself up, you loose credit for yourself. Bill Clinton showed us all what it would lead to in SC; MD, VA, and DC a win for OBAMA. Thank you Bill Clinton. Keep it up Hillary Clinton because we want to see everything you have. This is what Americans are sick and tired of. Hillary wrote a book title "It Take A Village To Raise A Child"; she was not creative with the title of her own book. She taps in on people and other cultures phrases and ideas and claim them as she is the author of such creativness. In this primary race, she has used Sen. Obama's words to try to discredit and mislead people about him. It will not work. She is a desperate candidate that cannot beat Se.

Go figure. • Jimmy Kimmel think's he's one-upping Sarah Silverman for her "I'm F---king Matt Damon" video with a little Ben Affleck romp of his own. Sorry, dude, we're just not feeling this one as much. • He's still grasping for headlines, but at least this one's for a good cause: Larry Birkhead is teaming with Habitat for Humanity to help build a house for a struggling single mother in Louisville, Kentucky. Just don't date her, m-kay, Larry? .

But there is another equally important cause: the simple fact that young black men commit a disproportionate number of crimes, especially violent crimes, which cannot be attributed to judicial bias, racism or economic hardships. The rate at which blacks commit homicides is seven times that of whites. Why is this? Several incidents serendipitously occurring at around the same time as the march on Jena hint loudly at a possible answer. In New York City, the tabloids published sensational details of the bias suit brought by a black former executive for the Knicks, Anucha Browne Sanders, who claims that she was frequently called a "bitch" and a "ho" by the Knicks coach and president, Isiah Thomas. In a video deposition, Thomas said that while it is always wrong for a white man to verbally abuse a black woman in such terms, it was "not as much ...
Teams Win Competition to Track Approaching Asteroid
Discovered in 2004, it is named after a spirit of destruction in Egyptian myth. In 2029, Apophis is expected to come within 30,000 kilometers of the earth, closer than the orbit of geostationary satellites. Depending on the asteroid's trajectory, there is a very small chance the earth's gravity could alter its course so it would strike the earth on a subsequent approach in 2036. The Planetary Society, an educational and advocacy group, solicited proposals for a hypothetical mission to assess the risk, and received 37 proposals from 20 countries. The winning entry, which earned a prize of $25,000, was a joint proposal from SpaceWorks Engineering of Atlanta, Georgia, and a California firm called SpaceDev. Their mission would place a small satellite in orbit around Apophis, which would follow the asteroid using a laser rangefinder and radio tracking from earth to determine its orbit.
What Happened To New York: A History Of The 00's So Far
The firings come six weeks after the arrival of The Post's new editor, Col Allan.A judge appoints a lawyer for Giuliani's children in his "rancorous" divorce. The poor got a little poorer, the rich got a lot richer and the large group in the middle emerged slightly worse off than when the decade began." Footprints: Jan. 1988 brought change to Triplicate
January 1988, started off with a bang. The Del Norte Triplicate was sold to Western Communications, owner of The Curry Coastal Pilot and the North Coastal Advantage, and several other Oregon newspapers. The sellers were Hadley Newspapers, Inc. In a statement by the new owners, the future of the Triplicate was, "We have long admired the Northern Coast region of California dating back in one instance for more than 50 years of family interest in the area. We look upon it as an opportunity, and we plan to do our part to help Del Norte County realize the potential it has." Michael Thorpe, formerly the publisher of the Newport News-Times was named as new publisher of the Triplicate. He brought experience in weekly and daily newspapers and also knew the advertising component of newspapers. Thorpe said, "My family and I are excited to be moving to Crescent City and becoming part of the community.
Candidates reveal differences at forum
Julia Valerma said the SmartCode encompasses most the Vision 20/20 plan touted by Struck and Gonzales over the SmartCode, but said it would define the current and immediate needs of the community. The Vision 20/20 Plan, which was created by extensive grassroots input in 1999, was never formally adopted by the town council. The SmartCode, a form-based zoning concept, was drafted by Albuquerque land use consultants PlaceMakers, but has not yet been formally discussed by the town council. It is meant to serve as a Land Use Master Plan.Comments about the series of disputes that has split the current town council for more than a year crept into nearly every response from the candidates.Richard Leirer suggested the council and the town employees attend non-violent communication training.Valerma said disagreements among council members would be less stark if the council defined goals and milestones to plan for the future.Gonzales and Struck suggested the "bickering" among the council members would be resolved if the councilors showed more respect for each other, but Pavel Lukes called the series of council votes that put Gonzales and Struck on one side of an issue and Councilors Rudy Abeyta and Darren Córdova on the other side as more than merely bickering."It’s not fighting.

The research represents a vital contribution to a debate over whether Scotland should take on more tax-raising powers or become independent. Our findings come amid a growing clamour from English politicians and the London-based media to curb Scotland's £26bn spending grant from the Treasury. But, as The Herald shows, much of this mischief is based not on facts but a series of myths, mistakes and misconceptions. .
