Dulles, Va. and Utica, New York. More than 4 in 10 Americans (44%), including 50% in their 20s dont believe that they need to be married to validate the commitment of a long-term relationship, according to a survey from AOL Personals (http://personals.aol.com) and Zogby*. This is just one of the many findings from a new interactive survey of Americans age 20 to 69 that tackles how different generations view a wide range of relationship issues from love to soul mates, money and trust. While many dont believe marriage is the ultimate symbol of commitment, there are significant differences among older and younger adults regarding how they view dating while nearly half of Americans said they would date someone who is not interested in a long-term relationship, older adults tend to be more open to dating without fixating on how long a relationship might last.

Trying to lure customers back, sooner
Citi Investment Research analyst Deborah Weinswig slapped a "sell" rating on Target stock last week, partly because of concerns about rising delinquencies and increased charge-offs from unpaid accounts. Delinquencies, which totaled $518 million, are up 46 percent from a year ago. "We have long questioned how the Target portfolio would perform in a slowdown -- and it appears the answer is, 'poorly,'" analyst William Ryan of Portales Partners wrote in a research report last week after the portfolio's monthly results were released. The deteriorating credit card operations poses another problem for the retailer as well. It announced in September that it was shopping the portfolio for a possible sale, but tight credit markets and the increasingly risky numbers make the timing poor.

How can we throw babies on roads or dump them in garbage to die", he said with a heavy voice. The NGO had received three children from Bathinda recently and three babies were found from Ludhiana. Among them, two are boys and four are girls. Kuldeep Singh said many childless couples came to them for adopting these kids but almost all of them preferred to adopt the boys only. "We have engaged counsellors who make the couples understand that there was no difference between boys and girls. Girls, being more caring and affectionate, could take care of them in a better way. Still, not many couples came forward to adopt girls. And we have no choice but to keep them with us, perhaps for long. We make sure that they get all care and affection by the staff and care takers of the foundation", he said.

Language group picks 'subprime' as Word of the Year
About 80 members of the organization spent two days debating the merits of runners-up "Facebook," "green," "Googleganger" and "waterboarding" before voting for an adjective that means "a risky or less than ideal loan, mortgage or investment." The choice signifies the public's concern for a "deepening mortgage crisis," the society said in a statement. "Facebook," as a noun, verb or adjective, was popular with younger linguists, Glowka said. Several people lobbied for "green," which "designates environmental concern," but the term has been around for years, he said. The word topped the 2007 "Most Useful" category, one of numerous subgroups the society choses. The group also decided that although "waterboarding," an interrogation technique that simulates drowning, gained a lot of attention during recent attorney general confirmation hearings, it was a bigger deal in 2004, Glowka said.
