| Doctor's advice - She's an independent young woman
Good day doctor, I am a 22-year-old young lady, and I have been told that 'independent females' always seem to have problems with males who deem themselves to be God's gift to women. Well, I am dating a young man like that, who is a year older than me, and who seems very naive and narrow-minded. Also, he appears rather intimidated by me. But the big problem is his interfering mother and his meddling aunt! His 'Mama' does not like me, and claims that I am 'the wrong star sign' (Leo)! In fact, the control that his beloved mother has on him is upsetting to me. She is already having converse about her future grandchildren, and saying that I could not care for them in the way that she can. I think I am falling in love with this boy, but I can't cope with his awful mother, who continuously interferes with our relationship.
S Korean president calls for closer ties with Japan
President Lee Myung-Bak on Saturday called for South Korea and Japan to stop feuding over their history and build ties to bind the two neighbours closer together. In a speech marking the 89th anniversary of a 1919 popular uprising against Japanese colonial rule over the Korean peninsula, Lee said South Korea must not be caught up in disputes over history. "We face too many challenges for us to look back. We should not let ourselves be bound by the past," he said. Lee, who was inaugurated on Monday, said pragmatism should be the dominant theme in all fields ranging from politics and economics to security and diplomacy. "South Korea and Japan should also try to foster a future-oriented relationship with a pragmatic attitude," he said.
Valentine's Day events for haters, lovers and everyone in-between
I'm far from a hopeless romantic, but I do like seeing people have a good time. That's why I'm glad some of the bars and clubs around town are getting a fiscal bite out of the holiday Hallmark gave us. After all, the card, chocolate and flower companies shouldn't be the only ones allowed to profit off our hearts. The best part about these events is that they work for almost everyone, whether you have someone or don't, care about meeting that special someone or just catching a buzz. Valentine's Day isn't just for you silly romantics anymore, but you can definitely join in on the party if you would like. *Metromix Orlando wants you to find your next ex at The Lodge in downtown Orlando Thursday. The "Ex to the Next" party will grant you free entry if you bring a picture of an ex and shred it at the door.
India claims success against Maoist rebels
D]on't ask me to comment on my colleagues or what the prime minister said. You asked me for my opinion and I will give you my opinion," Patil told CNN-IBN's "Devil's Advocate" in an interview. ... Patil's statement flies in the face of Prime Minister Manmohan Singh's repeated assertions in many forums that Maoists posed the single biggest security challenge to India and even exhorted chief ministers at a recent conference to cripple their rebellion with all means at their command. "Not a day passes without an incident of leftwing extremism taking place somewhere or the other. There also seems to be a consolidation of various groups with better coordination and strike capabilities," Manmohan Singh told chief ministers at a conclave on internal security in December last year.

Nurse says Anderson School District 4 superintendent intimidated her
Have you ever noticed that ADD doesnt really happen to close families or families with good tough dicipline that comes with love and hugs? and not trying this TIME OUT crap for hitting a teacher or some other child problem. It usually happens in families that have no dicipline or parental guidence. A parent should be smart enough to know that a child can tell how their home life is without ever saying a word. The RN did good and I would be proud to have had her for my childs school. Maybe she should have given the superintendant some of that medicine to shut the idiot up. Good Job, Ms. Gibson .
Capital offered cultural and sporting bonanza
CARDIFF-BORN and bred, but living in London, I try to get back home now and then. The last time was on Friday, February 15, to enjoy the inspired production of The Magic Flute by the Welsh National Opera at the Wales Millennium Centre, and to stay on to see Cardiff City teach Wolverhampton Wanderers a football lesson at Ninian Park on Saturday afternoon. That morning I went to the Old Library in The Hayes to see the museum exhibition on Cardiff Floods. What a delight that was – carefully but beautifully set out and a prime example of how learning something new can be fun as well as interesting – and free too! I cannot remember the last time I laughed out loud at a museum. This time it was at the account of the Leckwith Road mini-tsunami caused by RAF St Athan rushing to the rescue in the 1960 flood.

Pastor's flier used to 'incite tensions'
You never miss an opportunity to try to spread your (ir)religious beliefs. Why can't you bask in your religion-free zone without trying to drag the rest of us into it? This isn't about religion. It's about hateful people. MIFA is a counterexample of what you're trying to say. Ask the folks at MIFA - Christian, Jew, Muslim - how their religion divides them. .
